Speech Session

Matthew has speech on Thursday afternoons and always enjoys his time with our therapist. Every week she places him on her knees and goes up and down. This is his favorite thing to do with her and it always makes him smile. Matthew's learned a lot from it too- he'll initiate the up and down movement with his arms now.

Here are a few more pictures from the session:
"Upppp!"
Using the Z-vibe to encourage sounds. This one was "mmm."
Matthew certainly admires his therapist

Sophia Joy

I have been following along the journey of Sophia Joy, a two year old girl who has Down syndrome and is battling leukemia, for some time now online. After the final round of chemo Sophia caught bronchiolitis and was put in the ICU, where she is now on total life support. Her family is asking for prayers at this time, if you wouldn't mind. Isn't she so beautiful?
You can follow their journey here.

Nemo

This is how we spent our snow day. The snow is piling up here but seems to be at a lull for the time being. Michael was able to come home at 2 and worked from home the rest of the day. Matthew's PT session and Maria's dance class were cancelled so we had a cozy day indoors. How is everyone else in the Northeast making out?

Eating and Waving

This video is a little dark but it shows off some of Matthew's new skills, feeding himself and waving! For about a week straight I waved to Matthew non-stop, convinced that he would start to imitate me. Just the other day, while looking in the mirror at him, I said, "Hi Matthew!" and waved. He put a big smile on his face and waved back! I think he says "hi" too. He has been a waving machine to all of us, especially when he's in his high chair. Enjoy!
